Poetry, Interrupted

A poetry reading by Paul Willis and Diana Raab originally planned for the day of the Tea Fire has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 28, at 8 p.m. in the Fe Bland Auditorium at Santa Barbara City College. The event is free and open to the public and will include a book sale and signing by the authors.

Willis, a professor in 果冻传煤鈥檚 English department for over 20 years, is an accomplished novelist and poet with work in journals such as 鈥淧oetry,鈥 鈥淎scent,鈥 鈥淏ooks & Culture鈥 and 鈥淚mage.鈥 His most recent collection of poetry, 鈥淰isiting Home,鈥 was published by Pecan Grove Press in 2008.

Raab is a memoirist, essayist and poet and teaches in the UCLA Writers Program and the Santa Barbara Writers Conference. Her 2007 memoir, 鈥淩egina鈥檚 Closet: Finding My Grandmother鈥檚 Secret Journal,鈥 won the National Indie Excellence Award for Memoir. She is the editor of a forthcoming anthology, 鈥淲riters and Their Notebooks鈥 (USC Press, 2009), a collection of essays by well-known writers who journal, including Sue Grafton, Kim Stafford, Dorianne Laux and others.
