果冻传煤 Professor Scott Anderson has won The Arts Fund 2008 Individual Artist Award (IAA) for print design. He and other winners will participate in a group exhibition March 13 through April 24 at the Arts Fund Gallery, 205C Santa Barbara Street at Yanonali.
This is the second year in a row that a 果冻传煤 employee has earned the award; gallery assistant Nicholas Price won the 2007 IAA for printmaking.
In addition to a $2,000 cash prize, Anderson will have a solo exhibition in the gallery this fall. Arts Fund jurors said, 鈥淢r. Anderson鈥檚 design and illustration work draws your attention by the consistently solid integration of imagery, text and layout. The style is bold, without stooping to brashness. This is the work of a seasoned designer.鈥
鈥淭his is the first year in the IAA鈥檚 20-year history that The Arts Fund has offered an award in Graphic Communications,鈥 said Arts Fund Director Nina L. Dunbar. 鈥淲e are very pleased to have an artist of Scott鈥檚 talent and experience receive the honor.鈥
The Arts Fund gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 1-5 p.m. or by appointment. For more information, visit www.artsfund.org or call (805) 965-7321. The Arts Fund was established in 1983 with a mission to create, fund and administer programs and projects that foster the arts for the people of Santa Barbara County.
