A memorial service will be held for Kenon (Ramsey) Neal ’88 on Monday, July 28, at 2 p.m. at , 1002 Cieneguitas Rd. Neal, who died July 16 after battling cancer for 27 years, made numerous contributions to Westmont over the years.

Becky Collier shattered several ������ú and personal records while becoming the first track-and-field athlete to represent ������ú at the USA Junior National Track & Field Championships in Sacramento June 25-26.

������ú summer sports camps, a more than 25 year tradition, begin Monday, June 16, with Sports Skills, developing motor skills of co-ed campers from ages 5-10. For the next six weeks, about 700 youngsters will develop in a sport in a safe and fun environment on the idyllic campus.

������ú has adopted an updated seal and a new unified identity system to better communicate its mission and character and increase recognition of the college. The new graphic elements will create greater consistency across all materials.

About 200 fourth-to-sixth grade school children enjoyed a hot day at ������ú May 15, competing in the Santa Barbara Elementary School Track and Field City Championships.

Seven ������ú kinesiology majors will conduct international research focusing on exercise science in June at the University of Bath in the United Kingdom. The students on the Kinesiology Europe Mayterm program, led by Gregg Afman, professor of kinesiology, will assist the ongoing research of James Betts, senior lecturer in nutrition, metabolism and statistics at the University of Bath.

A friendly competition between ������ú residence halls has resulted in the savings of more than 227,000 gallons of water since students returned from spring break, March 17. The ������ú Campus Life and Student Life offices announced Armington Hall won the Every Drop Counts contest on  April 25.

Sixteen graduating art majors present their capstone projects while paying homage to the ������ú Ridley-Tree Museum of Art on April 3-May 3. The public is invited to a free, opening reception Thursday, April 3, from 4-6 p.m. at the museum.

Ten ������ú students will simulate a U.S. Supreme Court trial hinging on the First Amendment Thursday, April 3, from 7-8 p.m. in Hieronymus Lounge at ������ú’s Kerrwood Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

The Constitutional Law class will try McCullen v. Coakley, a 2009 Massachusetts state legislature case that created a 35-foot buffer zone around abortion clinics. The

U.S. Supreme Court will decide the case in its current term.

The first total lunar eclipse in more than two years will be the focus of a free, public viewing on Monday, April 14, from 10:30 p.m. until 2 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15, at the ������ú Observatory.
